AssureWeb

First launched in 1998, the Assureweb portal had one aim in mind: to help IFAs improve their service, efficiency and profitability by doing their business online.

In August 2001, Misys plc bought Assureweb, creating a centre of technology excellence in its financial services division.

Then, in January 2002, three leading product providers - Friends Provident, Norwich Union and Scottish Widows - purchased a 40% stake in Assureweb. This 26 million investment would underpin the portal's development.

In July 2002, Clerical Medical joined this trio of initial investors, sharing in the 40% stake. And, in September 2002, Aegon became the fifth investor.

But the big news is that now Assureweb is part of the Sesame group, the UKs largest IFA network, with 25% of the market and generating more than 700 million of premium income each year.

Now within the Sesame Technology division, we are regulated by the FSA and have the opportunity to broaden and deepen our range of services, and to exploit new technology.

Based in Cheltenham, Assureweb has a strong executive team and 167 of the 900 Sesame employees onsite.
